Rev counter, speed, petrol gauge intermitent
Hello folks
Ive the last month ive noticed my rev counter/speedo cluster intermittently twitching too amf fro between clear and as what i can only describe as a 'patchy' display. I think its had something to do with all the eain weve had in the uk as this first seemed to happen at speed and the consensation in the car started to collect on the inside if the glass of the display. Its still readable but it gets worse and better. When the cars been still a while im back to normal.
I thought at first it had something to do with the temperature of the engine as the longer the drive i was on the worse it got but actually this morning after 5 minutes of the heater being on to clear the windscreen im back to the patchy interface, it looks like a broken calculator... somw of thw light are unaffected some dim some off. Heat therefore seems to be a common factor closely linked to condensation...
The problem i have is thus, im not a fixer, i just drive. Taking this unit out not knowing what im doing is likely to lead to bigger bills. I also would rather not pay the local auto electrian as they are rob dogs and probably charge me full for a loose wire. Honda would know but again hefty price
Any ideas? Ive checked on here for a similar problem but most of the other cluster issues sound more severe with static 0 speedo counts and what not. Someone must have seen this themselves?
Cheers
Lee

It's a kind of fast strobe action on the dash? Chances are you need a new rectifier bridge in the alternator. Best to find a low mileage used one, because a new rectifier is ~$160 USD.

Its not a strobe mate, just sone of the dash lights up normal, some of the segments in the display dont. Looks like hyroglphics at its worst. Ill bear that in mind tho.
