Having no lag is the best advantage. I would never turbo this car because with gears and a Vortech I don't need anything else. I don't care if the turbo guys have more. I don't need to brag or magazine race. No lag and a nice stock feeling, linear curve is perfect for me. Also, Johns2k says his 330whp Vortech runs as smooth and reliable as stock so if you want more power, the option is always there. Just go dyno it or better yet, get a ride from another SC owner and then compare. Also, didn't someone get a 13.1 on the 1/4? Makes sense because this car pulls on M3's and cars of similar power. Not sure though, I dont drag race and all I know is it is more geared towards my road racing style.

[QUOTE=VTECturbo04,Sep 8 2004, 09:25 PM] Not really a turbo kit builds about 40 more hp that a supercharger and way more torque.

I had the exact same feeling when I installed mine - not really knowing what to expect I was a little bit disappointed! It is faster though without question, I can pull easily on my roommates Spoon N/A engine where as I could not before - I just upgraded to the Tech2 7 psi pulley and noticed a nice difference in midrange where I didn't before. I hope to be putting down around 300 to the ground soon with 550 injectors and and AEM EMS in a month or so, As far as the car being faster I will use my last track event as a reference, Before I put on the 7 psi pulley I did a track event at Sebring raceway and on the back straight where the 911's and Turbo 944's would walk away I was now keeping up and passing them, that is where I noticed the biggest difference

Where are you getting your info from?? Superchargered s2000's are running in the low 13's shaving off almost a full second. Either all you're doing is reading magazines or you're friends don't know how to drive. The turbo's that are tuned properly (as AusS2000 is talking about) and usually pushing more boost than stock supercharger kits (above ~ 7psi) are the ones in the 12's.
Just gotta add a point. Those turbo'ed S's are running 6.7-7psi of boost. Which is under the amount of boost a Vortech runs. That is all

My 350 rwhp S2000 running 11 psi pushes me back in the seat pretty darn good.

Driving them one after another, a stock C5 feels a lot slower.

My friends N/A 2000s with gears will pull me off the line until I hit about 3rd. Then its a whole different story. If you want low end then I would suggest gears. I will probably be buying 4.57's in the future.

Question: How does the Tech2 7lb pulley differ from the one that comes with the stock Comptech kit? They are both 7lbs right?

I installed a vortech kit in a customers my02.I can tell you the car was MUCH faster than stock. At the time of the install i owned an eleven second turbocharged integra, so i know what a fast car feels like. The supercharged s2k power delivery is very linear, there is no rush of power in the midrange but once at 6k it explodes with power. The car made 313 hp at the wheels and 185 footponds of torque! It was all stock except for the blower kit.I liked it so much i sold off my integra and bought an my01 s2k for myself.I to plan on adding a vortech kit to mine.A must have in my book!!

I hate to jump in on these threads because I am still less than one year on the car and have no FI....yet.

But would'nt the now newly SC'ed kit also feel faster if the owner lowered VTEC to go with the new kit? Say 400-700 rpm?

I like the idea of putting a comtech on mine when $$$ permits, but what else would be needed to change VTEC point? does the kit allow you to do this or do you need EMS or SAFC? (or is it VAFC?)
