Default Result of compression test on '05 AP2

I thought I'd share the results of a compression test I just did on my '05 AP2 with 65,000 miles. I got 250#/240#/255#/#247 with a hot engine. I've run Mobil 1 10w-30 almost exculsively, and have over a dozen track days on this bone-stock AP2. I'm quite pleased at the results, both overall results and balance between cylinders. Last week I pulled 206whp on a Dynojet, so the compression results don't really surprise me. I also just sent a UOA to Blackstone and will post results when I get them.

I'm truly impressed with Honda's quality. 14 track days over 2 1/2 years and the only real extra maintenance is replace pads and a set of rotors. I do fluids regularly (5k on motor oil, 10k on MTF and diff, annual brake bleed with ATE blue), and that's really it. I do all maintenance myself in my rare spare time, and the S2k is easy to work on.

Very similar numbers to my 100k mile AP1. Yet somehow it doesn't burn a drop of M1 10w30 in 6k miles. Honda

Honda engine ease of maintenance ftw!

Learned how to do a valve adjust on it!

I love how everything is out in the open for us to work on - very different from the camaro I came from.

--actually, its more like the older camaros...back when it was made to be wrenched on.

I just tested my 2003 with 186K miles and got 230, 235, 240, 240. It's consuming a bit of oil, but running great!
