if you tighten up the throttle cable make sure to leave 1/4 to 3/8 inch play.

Here's an update :
- Air Filter Good
- Cleaned thottle body
- Tightened throttle cable
- Running Techron thru fuel system

Performance may have picked up a little , but it's not what I'm looking for ...... Once I get the revs up It screams , but from 1,000 - 5,000 it feels like a Miata.

What could I be missing :
- New Spark Plugs
- Clean injectors
- Valve adjustment
- Recycle ECU

What else ?

I noticed a big kick in the lower RPM's when I replaced my cam chain tensioner. I describe it as a timing advance. The 00-01 ecu's are documented to run richer than the 02-03 ecu's.

You need an 02-03 ECU.

rated output, yes, but the 02-03 cars put out about 5HP more to the wheels, peak. The 04-07 put out another 5HP or more on top of that.

Funny thing is, there really isn't an all-out acceleration difference between any year, though. They all run the same quarter. The record holder for a stock S2000 in the quarter here is 13.6...on a 2000!

AP2s gained a little bit of weight, and they have 1000 less rpms under the power curve. That accounts for the lack of average added real world performance. Don't know why an 02/03 wouldn't be faster than an 00/01 unless that leather center console, tweaters, and chrome light surrounds added too much weight
