Wanted to add this to the board in case anyone needs to search.
MY 2000 ~ 30K miles
Symptoms: Hesitation, sort of like a cut off. Happened intermittently but mostly below 6K rpms while cruising or slight acceleration. Second Symptom: At stop signs or traffic lights RPM's would dip, sometimes the car would stall.
Actions:
Tried whacking MAP sensor. No effect.
Tried replacing MAP sensor. No effect.
Check engine light finally came on and sent a signal regarding Throttle Position Sensor. ( P0122 if my memory is correct )
Resolution:
Replaced Throttle Position Sensor. Dealership actually replaced entire Throttle Body ( I think that is how Honda sells the TPS ). Was covered under warranty.

Tom,
thanks for posting this info. I think I might have a mild version of your problems. Occasionally (only during the morning when the car isn't 100% warmed up yet), I get a slight hesitation. At stop lights, the rpms would dip a little but has never stalled. Again, this only happens when the car is not fully warmed yet. Once it's warmed up, these symptoms go away. Did you have those problems even when the car is fully warmed up? Did your problem started out like mine and got progressively worse? I have about 21,000 miles on a MY00.

hecash - intersting and helpful - one downside of Japanese designed cars is that they bundle the parts that makes it a hassle and expensive for DIY'ers. I have rebuilt alternators for old Corvettes for $20, but for most Japanese cars, one has to buy the whole enchilada.

Tom, i was talking to the tech that was working on your car and he told me what he had to do. Good to hear your car is running right again.
