Problem: There was a rattle when I'm in my gears (2nd-6th) around 4k rpm.
Solution: I finally figured out that it was my oem transmission mount (transmission shaking because the mount support was cracked/unsecure). I just purchased Spoon Engine and Transmission Mounts for my 06 S2k (Spoon only sells it in a package).

Question:
1. Has anyone replaced their engine/transmission mounts and what your experience was like?

2. Has anyone ever had problems with their mounts which needed replacement?

(It just annoys me that the OEM honda transmission mount was the problem. I was about to try to get it replaced under warranty but I figured, it'd be better to go for a more stable aftermarket mount that would not only fix the problem but perform much better in the long run.)

It all depends on the durometer of the bushings that spoon uses. I have innovation 85a engine and tranny mounts and they're pretty harsh, but also intended for race applications. It made everything more direct (shifting, throttle input>feeling the car move, less delay in settling of engine, etc), but also has amplified sound into the cabin,

my motor mounts were both broken. one was broken totally in half lol. replaced them with innovative race mounts, the same ones petawabit has. i like them a lot for the track especially, but i feel that most people wouldn't like the race version for a street car.

i think the mounts just get brittle and break over time. my transmission mount was still in working order, but i replaced it anyways since hte innovatives came as a set.

edit: i just realized i still have my good transmission mount if you want. pm me an offer and i can probably flat rate box it to you.
