Replacing springs, got myself into a jam

And here's how I ended up doing this, brought to you courtesy of a guy I work with that's much smarter than me. The sexy brackets on the top holding the angle iron from moving apart are actually the AutoZone spring compressors which didn't work originally, so at least they came in handy for something.

Glad you got it sorted fellow A/C nerd.

I'd love to know how this car rides when reassembled.
Seems like it shouldn't have been this hard but it was ....... why?

Yes, I worry about this as well. The statement above that different year S2K's have different length strut rods was alarming. I'm worried I may have a mismatch here now.

Part numbers on the shocks are actually the part number of the while assembly (shock, spring, etc.) and they're the right number from what I saw for his '02 as are the blue-blue-blue dot springs he's retrofitting.
Shop manual prescribes a spring compressor so how guys are doing without one has gotta be because the non-OEM springs are shorter. No surprise that lowering springs are an inch or two shorter.

Sheldon should be back to showroom suspension once all four OEM springs are in. With the super tech spring compressor you'll be able to change your mind if you want later. The '02 springs are softer up front and firmer in the rear. Not sure about the roll bars. The combinations were tuned by Honda engineers but we know they're idiots. Spring sets seem common enough on Ebay. My summer schedule is killing my S2000 time. Both driving and handing you tools along with constant gratuitous advice.
OEM Spring rates by year (front/rear)
MY00-01 = 218/291
MY02-03 = 240/230
MY04-07 = 256/207
MY08-UP = 274/225
MY08 CR = 375/264
