Maybe he overheated them at a track, and they warped?

WTF Maybe the world will end when the particle difubilatro creates nutron speeds of light speed and destroys the earth?

Or maybe JUST Maybe he just feel like doing them for safety reasons because he doesn't know what the other owner did.

If so, he would have changed them long before.

I go through many sets per year.

Thanks for all the input. The impact hammer is something I would have overlooked, and thus had a lot of extra hassle because of. I used to live in NH and stored my car every winter. Each Spring I would do an overall inspection of the car and it's parts. I measured my original rotors back in April and they were all within 2mm of the stamped minimum thickness, so I'm just guessing that they are NOW due.

However some of you now have me questioning how fast they've worn. I bought the car new off the lot and it has never been tracked. Have my rotors gone faster than normal??? I've heard some sources say that they do new rotors every time they do new pads. That seems unnecessary. My rotors are not warped at all, but my thickness says they're shot. Should I be gaging things differently?

2mm over the minimum thickness is alot, considering every time you machine the rotors you only take off around .003 of an inch. The rotors should last you at least 100k if you dont track the car. Measure it again. You don't need to spend money when its not necessary. Take off the rotors, measure it and have it machined.
