i think the years are 1999-2009 honda odyssey's have the same part number for the knock sensor? i need to replace mine and the oddysseys are alot cheaper. if you go to like aftermarket places like delphi for example the s2000 knock sensor for 2000 - 2005 and the odysseys knock sensor for 2000 - 2009 are the same. s2000's is $130 and the oddysseys are like $40 or something like that. anyone know is this is true? what are both the part numbers from honda? im curious to figure this out cuase not only would it help me out but everyone else also. honda parts are always compitable, so i have no doubt this is true.
I wouldnt' trust an aftermarket knock sensor, if that's what you are considering. There are lots of problems that can come from a bad knock sensor that are difficult to diagnose. Stick with OEM!

woohoo finally making my first post after lurking for 2 years.

for those of you that can't find the damn knock sensor. i took some pictures of where it is.

circled in yellow is the socket hanging on the broken sensor. it is pretty much right above and a little to the front of the starter.

here is the sensor without the socket on it. notice the dangling connector with half the sensor

i am embarrassed to say it took me about an hour to get this off. 2 minutes to install new one. that sucker is on there tiiiiiiiiiight and it is very easy for the socket to slip off so be careful.

Awesome first post....I think that is the best and only clear shot of the knock sensor on the car.

MODS, this should be labled and added to the FAQ!

this is the most helpful thread on here regarding the knock sensor...I couldn't put it in myself because I didn't fee; comfortable going under the car w/a jack and I also didn't have the tool...however, went right to my local mechanic and w/these pics it was easy to locate it...the only thing is cool down time for the car, which obviously isn't a problem if you're doing it on a car that hasn't been driven

anyway it's a must to pass inspection and glad I got it done last month cause my inspection is due this month

If you have small arms it's easier to reach behind the intake manifold and alternator with the 24mm deep wall socket and an extension. You need to unhook the connector first and then be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when putting the socket on the knock sensor. They break really easily considering it's soldered together, so I put the socket on with an extension. From there I attached it to the ratchet and took it off. I suppose if one were to break one they could resolder it and put it back on. If anyone needs pics of how I did it let me know...
