Default replacing chain tensioner vs chain

im reading about all these chain tensioner fixes and i see somewhat of a problem with it

wht i gathered so far:
timing chain stretches leading to over extended tensioner that provides less spring tension to a stretched chain so it starts making noise eventually
you replace it with oem tensioner and it starts making same noise shortly because its also overextended and doesnt provide enough tension for stretched chain

thats where modified/aftgermarket tensioners come in
they providemore tension and are modified to extend further

the confusing part is.
is everyone saying that the chain stretches to a certain point and then stops? so the aftermarket tensioners continue working and chain doesnt stretch more ?

or does the chain continue to stretch and even the aftermarket tensioner eventually will have same issue over extended due to even more stretched chain and will make noise ?

The chain will stretch very slowly, that's not the only reason the tensioner causes a rattle though. The tensioner works off oil pressure, the main issue is one of receiving enough oil volume to maintain adequate pressure.

You should get Billman's tensioner, his design considers both chain stretch and oil volume into the tensioner. Its proven to work, and has a lifetime guarantee.

If the chain stretched any significant amount, replacing just tensioner would be a patch at best. Chain should be replaced.

But thats a situation that occurs with these cars. People have 300k+ miles on original chain with no issues.

The tensioner itself wears out on our cars. The factory design is lacking. The Billman improved version addresses the factory shortcomings. It reuses your core to rebuild tensioner for the next guy.
