Default Replacing the 1.16:1 secondary reduction gear with a 1.292:1 version??

While looking at the ATS-USA site (from another UTH thread), I found that they sell a replacement secondary reduction gear set that is 10% lower than stock. It is rather pricy, but it seems like it could be a lot easier to install than the 4.44:1 ring & pinion. Although it should have similar performance results, I suspect that this could increase the chance of breaking the stock ring & pinion.

Have any of you tried this, or know anything about it? They can be found here.

Why would it be more likely to break the stock ring and pinion?

It is 6th gear we are talking about here which has the least impact upon the longevity of the rear end.

I think Randy had to go into the box twice to get it setup right. Although he was happy with the performance I think he was disappointed with a major increase in gearbox noise.

The primary reduction gearset in the transmission affects ALL gears. It's a reducer before the differential reduction.
