1. Did you check to make sure the heater core coolant inlet valve fully opens when the heat knob is set to HOT?
2. Did you have the heat knob at full HOT?
3. Did you start by letting air out of the bleed screw by the throttle body till coolant came out?
4. Did you then let air out of the second bleed point at the firewall?
5. Did you do all of the above while the engine was running and keeping the level under the rad cap full? You may need the assistance of a 2nd person to hold the idle speed slightly elevated while doing the above.
6. Also, the car should be more or less on level ground.

ive delt with the same problem mutiple times, in my experience this is one of the hardest cooling systems to fill properly and have no air pockets in the system. I would almost promise that is your problem i would try to bleed the whole system and refill again with all the bleed screws fully open then start the car and leave the bleed screw adn nipple open until both are pouring/squirting fluid out of them with absolutely no bubling/gargling at all. then i would try removing the hose into the heater control vlave and making sure there are no air pockets, its also a good idea to try to fill the system form there a little bit as well.

Another thing to try is to jack the front of the car up as high as possible from the front jack point. This ensures that the radiator is the highest point when you bleed from the vent points.

It must have been air in the system. I made the drive home last night very "spirited" and got everything nice and hot. This morning the no heat at idle problem is gone. I'd guess the air worked itself out.
Thanks for the help guys.
