Replaced diff fluid this weekend
I replaced the different fluid yesterday, everything went smooth, i let the fluid drain 40-45 minutes, a drop would fall every 30 seconds or so.
i think it was the original fluid it had a lot of shavings practically black, i bought the car with 17k now im at 24k, from honda.
it didn't take the whole liter of just under, did i not let it drain enough? i filled til it would drain out, i would wait and refill and still it would pour out slowly.
The car was leveled,

Diff capacity is 900ml, so less than 1 qt. You can overfill it slightly if you leave the driver's side jacked up (with a jack stand) so that the fill hole is a bit higher.
Congrats on the DIY attempt. As you can see that fluid gets pretty nasty so be sure and change it early. I go by the
"severe" schedule which states every 15k miles.

I just looked in the OM and the total change is about 3/4ths quart. It sounds about right.
At your next change warm it up a little by driving beforhand which should allow for max removal of the old fluid.

A little extra doesn't hurt.

Replaced it with what?
In your climate the recommended SAE 90 / GL-5 would be perfect
