Default Replaced clutch - First gear grind present

For reference, this is my post from previous clutch damage https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/115...#entry24049103

I have replaced the clutch with ACT PP, and oem everything else. The clutch feel and shifts are a hell of a lot better. But i am still getting the first gear grind when at a dead stop. It pretty much didn't change at all. I properly greased the splines with urea grease.

I adjusted the freeplay out of my clutch pedal but it's pretty much at the very end of the rod. Is this a sign that I need to replace/rebuild the CMC? It has a very slight leak at the seal. All the shifts feel pretty good, I can tell the 2-3rd synchro is a bit worn but other than that the only issue is going into first when at a dead stop.

Try a fluid change yet?

Is it every single time? Or not so much after warm?

Bleed fluid. Bleed until it comes out clean., Fresh fluid. Turkey baster the reservoir and wipe down with paper towel until clean before you even staet bleeding. Gravity bleed, and be very vigilant aboyt not letting reservoir run dry.

Adjust rod so there is zero play. Rod just starting to press back of mc. There is enough play built into mc that you don't need any in the linkage.

Did you also lube the other places, like release guide, lip of release bearing, etc?

I put grease in all the right places. There isnt quite enough rod to take out all the play i the CMC. I bled the clutch via pumping thr slave by hand

You gotta use gravity bleed. Follow the diy. Our clutches are notorious for air in the lines.

Not enough rod adjustment? Something seems very wrong. There should be so much adjustment left you could easily add way too much.

What tranny fluid are you using? Is the grinding into 1st the same whether car is cold or at operating temp?

Thanks!

When you bleed the slave physically remove it from where it's bolted on. Then point the bleeder straight up. Like a bottle of soda the air always goes to the highest point. If you make the bleeder the highest point the air has no choice but to leave.

Pumping the clutch to bleed it, doesn't work. Tried, gravity bleeding with the bleeder pointing up works best in my experience.
