Default Replace the LSD or just diff housing?

I posted a question on the Racing Forum in regards to the "weak link" on the S2000. I was told I'd get a better response in here.........

the weak link in the diff is the diff housing and then the lsd
the torsen will break if you have a lot more than stock power or repeatedly abuse it
if you plan to use your car for drag only then it may save in the long run to replace both

I broke my lsd, not my ring gear, pinion, or housing. If you were to ask me i'd say the lsd is the weak point. It may be just the way I drive, but I'd imagine if the lsd is not the weak point, then it is very close to the weakest point.

FYI, if any of you need an OEM LSD, I have the one from my '01 S2000 that I'll unload cheap. It has less than 8,000 miles on it, I upgraded to a Cusco RS 1.5 LSD, otherwise my LSD is tip top.

About the Comptech reinforced diff housing which I bought, my friend and installer determined it's basically just an OEM diff with reinforced housing bolts, probably not recommended for the $400+ you'll pay to get it. With the help of a machinist, you could make something comparable for a lot less money. But if money's not an object and it gives you piece of mind, it doesn't hurt of course.

If you're upgrading your LSD which I think is a great mod for improved handling, I'd recommend the ATS with the carbon syncros, in conjunction with the right diff fluid it will not chatter at all. Give a holler to Vapor on Honda-Tech if you'd like more feedback on the ATS LSD.
