Replace engine or repair engine?
Hi guys!
My F20C, form year 2000 (AP1) with 135,000 miles on it, is mixing water and oil. Already did the whole motor head/gasket treatment (two times actually). It has gotten better, but still does have the mixing problem. My mechanic believes there is a minor crack in the block. He recommends repairing the engine with new block sleeves, pistons, etc. if I'm taking in consideration putting some heavy horse power in it or to just replace the whole thing if I intend to keep it factory like. I'm actually no racer, so its not in my plans to put in any way force inducted power in my S. But I think that if the repair is good for hi power outputs, why wouldn't it be better for my normal, once in a while 9k revs, driving?
Feeling clueless in what to do... Will appreciate your input in these one guys!
Thanks!

Get another engine.
To sleeve this motor means it will no longer be an FRM motor.
There are no sleeves in an s2k engine. They bore it out to add sleeves.

Thanks for the feedback!! Seems like an unanimous decision jejeje
I'm waiting for three different quotes on a F20C so i'll let you know how everything comes out!

replacing an engine has some benefits. I just swapped the engine on my subaru vs a rebuild for a couple reasons.
engine rebuild take time, usually atleats a month, so that's a month you're without the car
engine rebuilds cost a lot of money, usually pretty close to what a new engine would run (new(used) engines go for about 2500-3000)
If you replace your engine vs. rebuild it you can have it done a lot sooner, and you can sell the old (bad) engine for parts. on an s2k that can easily be over $1000 just for the good parts, helping to offset the cost. even bad parts are worth money to someone looking for an engine to rebuild with oversized pistons or fresh top end componets etc
