Perfect DIY, thanks a lot. Main thing I love is the fact that I can swap the bases on the passenger and driver seat. My passenger side is 100% mint hehe.

Has anyone carved up a new section of foam to replace torn up stuff. Seems to me like it would work better and be much less ghetto.

Lol, ghetto as it is, I did the same exact fix to mine and it really brought life back into the seats. They look sooooo much better and much less embarrassing than before. I was very impressed with the results despite duct tape being involved, lol.

If you are skilled enough and have access to a large enough chunk of foam, then replacing with a carved piece of foam would work great.

I wonder whether if you take great care getting in and out of the seat you can avoid this problem. I just bought an 02 with only 8500 miles on it and even this car shows the beginning of the side bolster break down. When I was shopping every single car I looked at had this problem.

Can you not order individual seat parts from Honda? Do they only sell the whole seat?

The driver's side seat bottom pad & frame is $265.77 from Majestic. Part no. 81532-S2A-013

It is not that hard to rebuild the bolster. You pull the seat and remove that back. Take the retainers off of the fabric (you can save them for reassembly of use little zip ties instead). Stuff the bolster with new foam ( I use thin stuff and fold it to get the width I want). And then put it all together.
