repacking rear wheel bearings
Hi,
OK, to preface, I autocrossed my car this past year and have about 47k on the odometer. I have the rear end click/clunk metallic sound and am fairly convinced it may be the axle nut/wheel bearing loosing it preload,,, or at least that is the direction I am headed. I too think that if the nut has lost some preload, that it is the bearing that is starting to go.
With that being said, I think during the dissasmbly and re-assembly that I'd like to install new bearings and while at it, repack them with some very high shear stable/extreme pressure grease. I plan on doing the cv joints as well.
Has anyone disassmebled these bearing and or has knowledge of how to w/o messing up the seals? Additionally, where can I aquire new cv boot clamps?
thank you in advance...

The wheel bearings are a non-serviceable part. A friend and I pressed a rear bearing back together after removal, and it did not last long at all. Just replace them with new OEM bearings.

Yes the wheels bearings are sealed bearings.
A honda dealer would be the place to get the oem cv boot clamps but I believe any autozone type part seller will have universal cv boot clamps.

I realize they are sealed, however there ought ot be a way to diligently remove a seal/both seals and repack them? They were put together at the manufacturer and I am hoping to be able to add my snake oil(greese) with an attempt to improve the marginal service life they seem to offer.

Yeah, but they put them together without the cage, so they can move all balls to one spot, insert the inner race, deveide the balls and put the cage in, from both sides sometimes.
Sure, you can remove the seals, wash and repack, but you will never the seals back, or certainly not the way they are supposed to.
Btw.. those bearings are double row angular contact bearings, with a 2-piece inner race.
Allthough it looks like they can be taken apart, IMO you will damage something when you do.
In general, when bearings don't "fall apart", as in: they come apart with no effort, you should not take them apart.
