Default removing hoops

How do you remove the plastic covering the hoops behind the passenger and driver seats -- there is an annoying rattle coming from one of them and if I don't stop it, it is going to drive me crazy.

Thanks

You have to remove the rear console and side trim and anything else that might be attached to it. Then the whole thing lifts straight up. Don't make the mistake of splitting the cover in the middle (where the seam is). This seam is not supposed to be split. If you split it, the cover will be damaged.
Keep in mind that removing the rear console and side trim will involve the removal of several other things. If you are determined to do this, be prepared for bits and pieces of your car all over the place.

The roll hoop covers are not seperate from the hoops. You have to remove the entire roll hoop. If you seperate the plastic covers, you will not be able to put them back together. (Trust me, many have tried with all glues imaginable, they don't go back together)

Damn. One of mine is split (probably from a roof replacement) and I intend to pull it out this weekend.

AusS2000, they were split when you had the seatbelt recall done (Atleast they are in the USA).

You have to unbolt the hoops to do the recall, but there is no reason to seperate the plastic covering. The hoops have to come out to remove the soft top frame.

AHM even had a Dealer memo back on Dec 99, DO NOT try and seperate the plastic roll hoop covers, you will destroy them.

He should qualify for some new parts as the procedure was done incorrectly by the dealer.
