What all needs to be removed in order to get to the nuts under the intake. I have the top 5 loose and the first one on the bottom but I can tell the ones behind it are going to be a bi!&^ to get to even with the alternator off. What are some tricks to getting at them

Remove the alternator and the belt tensioner.

Patience, a long extension bar along with a nice swivel socket. Oh and dont forget the bandaids for the banged up knuckles!

^^ Yea I ahave a few banged up knuckles already. No biggie. Its probably gonna take me a week to get this thing off and another week to get it back on and thats after I get the HG. Thats if I can figure out what coolant lines go where and try and figure out where all of the vaccum lines go again.

Wow we didnt take the alternator or tensioner off, it tooks us 4 hours start to finish to do the headgasket.
You can get to any of the lower bolts and the coolant housing bolts with a swivel and an extension

bro if ur worried about remembering where hoses go when ur reinstalling. I would suggest maybe u should get some colored zip ties and zip tie each hoses with each location. That way so when ur putting it back together u can do 1 by 1 easy and right the 1st time.

I have been taking a ton of pictures so that I can reference things if I need to. I also have all of the parts layed out in my living room acording to what setp I removed it in. I wanted to clean up some of the vacuum hoses that were in the engine compartment anyway as my installer was kinda sloppy. I would also like to reroute the coolant lines away from the intake manifold.

Instead of starting another post I will ask you guys if you had any resistance while trying to remove the camshfts? I removed all of the camshaft holders and am wondering if the camshafts should just come out from there. The fronts are off fine but it is still pretty solid back by the camshaft plate. Thanks for any input on this.

Yep just a tad of resistance, they need to come up straight, not front to back or back to front
