Removing Fender Liner

yes, i am lowered. I bought the fenders for the extra 10mm in width so my wheels can look flush, but what i didnt know was that the lip that has the tabs where the fender liner goes attached to is actually about an inch and a half in width, which totally defeats the purpose of the 10mm in width for extra clearance. So what i am going to have to do is trim down that lip, but that would mean i would have to lose those tabs too.
I wouldn't necessarily call it trimming.. it's more of shaving it down with a rotary sander.
as you can see i sanded some of it down (i sanded more down to the edge).
If you try to break the resin, it will look ugly and who knows what damage the sharp edges can cause. If you use a rotary, it'll give you a smooth finish & a perfectly uniform finish.
also, i'm not sure what wheel size you are running, how low you are & what your alignment is, but you might have some issues when the steering wheel is fully turned either ways. Cwest fenders have fatter side walls, so the tires might rub on it if you are slammed. Going straight should be no problem though (like all fenders).
gluck!

sorry i'm reviving this thread because i've come across the same problem.
the problem i think he's having is that those tabs, especially the one near the middle tends to rub against the tires if he's going flush. so he would need to trim those tabs that stick out in order to have the clearance..
i lowered my car and got wider tires but on a turn the tire would rub hard against the tab so what i did was fold the fender liner above the tabs and roll the lip upwards to hold it in place... it still rubs on places where the liner sticks out but your method of using the heat gun should work i'm guessing
