Default Removing the Entire Glove Box Compartment?

I want to replace my broken glove box so I need some help with this if anyone out there has already done so...I need to remove the entire glove box compartment which sits between passenger and driver. I have a 2001 s2k if this helps.

If you have links to step by step instructions or can show me some pictures on what to do I would really appreciate it.

thanks in advance guys...I want to do this by the weekend.

you have to remove the seats and a bunch of little plastic panels behind it before you can get to the glove box...make sure you keep and inventory of all the bolts and screws and remember where everything goes

Buy a helms manual first. It will give you the order, diagrams and the differences between fasterners. there are more than a dozen slightly diffrerent fasterners you will deal with. It is well worth the investment.

I disagree with the above. Although it becomes more comfortable for you to remove the seats, you dont necessarily have to remove the seats.

If the seats are a PITA to remove, you surely don't want to try the center glove box. The seats only have 4 bolts and they lift straight out. The number of things you have to remove and the how tight it is to get to the fasteners makes this 100 times more of a PIA.

But search for a post from Cyclon36 on replacing the s2k top...he has instructions on removing the glovebox to give more room to work on the top from inside the car.
