So you admit you know there is the right way to recover refrigerant, but you don't care.

You lost your stolen copy of the service manual, and need help. But you don't want anyone to pick on you for knowingly doing it the wrong way.
we all do shit we shouldn't... who cares???

this is my original thread... i have ripped the A/C out of two cars now and have not seen anything unusual (Freon, etc...) come out of the lines in either...? i just took the hoses off of the motor that was mounted on the engine block and then ripped out all of the lines myself.... kind of fun to rip shit apart...

If nothing came out of the hoses on your 2 cars, they didn't have a charged system.

^ which is a small percentage of the reason I am dumping the AC. Mine failed sometime last spring so there is probably little or no 134 left in the system.

Where do the 2 lines going into the cab on the passenger side lead to? Do I need to take the passenger side dash apart or can they be pinched off under the hood?

For a full-race vehicle, you'll want to remove the evaporator from under the dash: it's is just a couple of pounds of useless weight with the compressor, receiver/dryer, and condensor removed. You can probably lose the heater core, fan, and some other dead weight from under there at the same time.

The plan is to have the motor and brake lines under the hood. I hope to eliminate all wiring there and relocate it to the passenger side compartment. Girl is getting me a new MIG welder for x-mas so I should be good to go for this winter project.

ya if you are going full race car, take the dash apart and get rid of the heater core and all that other shit... it all ads up. there is a rubber mat thing between the firewall and dash that weighs a decent amount too.

I rerouted my hoses to each other under the hood.... (if that sounds correct...)... I am not sure if I have a picture or not...

when it comes to a belt with no AC, just go get the one for the CR without the AC option. That seems simplest, no?
