I just put a clutch in mine. I had to drop the cradle 3". I unbolted the compressor from its mount so I didn't have to evacuate it. You should be able to do the same. Just watch carefully whn pulling the block to make sure it clears.

You unbolt the compressor and pull the H20 pump off the block. Leave the hoses attached to the compressor and yank the motor.

Done it several times on a S2k.

Just pull the four mounting bolts and pull it away from the motor a small amount and let it hang. No need to disconnect the lines.

Does the water pump gasket need to be replaced if you remove the pump from the mount face or can it be reused?
Thanks

Only if the o-ring is cut or crushed beyond repair. If it's still pliable and round it can be reused.

Just got all the tranny bolts off. I still have to remove the starter bolts and then drop the tranny.

You only need to get the top starter bolt out. You can leave the starter attached untill you get the engine out of the car.

Thanks Slow
Asura, sorry to hijack your thread - Here is a pic of the AC with lines attached pulled out of the way for an engine swap!

The fun part will be getting the compressor back on it's mounts, as it goes under the H20 pump and alternator. BTW, unbolt the entire H20 pump housing from the block, not just the front part of the pump.
