i found a used glass top for a 04 and was going to install it in my 00 my question is should i take the whole frame (money aside). or just take the material. i saw the writeup on how to do the conversion with the nylon straps. but would it be easier to just swap the whole frame with the material still attached. if so is there a writeup anywhere. thanks.

Are you certain that the top from the 04 has the frame included? Typically people sell the material itself, but it is rather unusual for someone to sell the frame with it. Double check that, but it would be easier to swap a complete top and frame vs just doing a top swap.

Definitely do the complete frame if you can.

Here's another question... is it worth it (or possible) to eithe remove the complete frame and top from the car, then just swap on the top? Or potentially have a bare frame and motors from another car, then put a top onto that, then put the whole thing back in the car? I have an '06 top that I will be putting into the car soon.
