removal of plastic cover in front of radiator
When installing a snorkel
is it ok to leave the plastic part out, or should i cut it and put it back me..
The plastic part is the bit in front of the radiator, needed to be removed to place the snorkel in. The instructions say i should cut it and put half back in.
Any consequences if i leave it out???

I believe Honda put this "slanted air guide" there to prevent too much incoming air from NOT going through the radiator. Your radiator needs as much air as possible going through it to be able to shed the heat it picks up from the engine. If you remove the guide altogether, you may find that in the heat of the summer, your engine running very hot.
I cut mine only enough for the snorkel to go through. When I stopped using the snorkel, I just went out and bought a new air guide. It's not that expensive.
You can always go without till your temp gauge tells you otherwise. If you hit more than 3 bars, that will be your sign.

Good question, I was wondering the same thing....
Yep, mine is all the way out too, but I installed in December. Hot weather is right around the corner, I'm anxious to see what will happen too....
I hope someone whio has had theirs out through a summer will answer here.

I cut mine and put it back in. I drove without (cuz it's kind of a biatch to deal with) for about a week and I didn't like the unfinished look nor the extra dust/debri I noticed in the engine bay. Now that I have it cut and back in I'm glad it's re-installed.

For many of you, overheating won't ever be a problem but this may simply be a testiment to the overall cooling efficiency of the S2000's cooling system. However, if you live in places like Arizona for example, you best keep an eye on your temp gauge for that 4th bar. I don't believe Honda put that thing there just to give it a "finished" look.

Ok, I've run with and without that airguide in the summer time. Trust me you will notice a difference, put the air guide back in. Also, as somebody else alluded to your engine bay will be a lot cleaner with it. Something to consider. Just hack the thing up with a dremel. It cost like $10 to get a new one if you ever have to.
