Default Removal of one cooling fan?

I am looking at purchasing a 2005 S2000. The previous owner removed the driver side cooling fan on the radiator and it is in the trunk.

I searched all over the net and can't find an answer to this or even see if it was a common mod?

I drove the car for about 3 hours yesterday and it never got hot or attempted to exceed the half way point on the engine temp gauge?

Any help you can provide would be great!

Thanks

There is no good reason to remove a cooling fan.
