Default Remote car lock doesn't work sometimes?

I use the remote to lock and unlock my car. 90% of the time, it works fine. However, 10% of the time, I'll hit unlock or lock on my remote and my car won't lock/unlock itself. It will happen very randomly so I can't reproduce the issue to a dealer.

If it matters, I noticed it happens a bit more often in warmer weather, but there have been those few times it didn't work when it was cold out. I've already tried swapping batteries and using my other remote, so I know the issue isn't with my remotes. Could the receiver go bad in our cars? My car is an '06 and I have not once had this issue on my '01.

hold it to your chin while you click it. I know that sounds stupid but try it.. if it doesn't work one day. immediately hold the clicker to your chin and press the button. My friend Liang had me do that with mine one day and now I can unlock my car from 30+ feet. Never changed the battery or anything. Other than that I don't know why the S2000 clicker is so finicky.

Is it the alarm FOB or the standard FOB? My alarm FOBs have much less range than the non alarm FOBs.. sometimes they will work from 30ft, but most times I need to be right next to the car.
