Default REM and Cryo'd Differential Gears

I recently got my differential gear sets back from being REM and cryo treated. The REM process really puts a smooth polish finish to the metal. I had the work done by Evans Performance products and am quite pleased with the results. You can find information on the process at their web site here: http://www.evansperformance.com/

Here are some pictures of the gears:

This is a set of Rick's 4.56

And this is a stock 4.10 set

The pictures really don't do them justice. Their surface feels as smooth as polished glass and they look chrome plated. Now the question is, which to use? With over 400 whp, do I really need 4.56? Has anyone who is FI destroyed a cryo'd 4.10? Decisions decisions.

I finished a gear install a few months ago using Evans Cryo'd 4.10's, and a ATS diff. No problems so far, but the car hasn't been back to the track yet. (It a turbo car over 500whp) The gears really do look almost chrome plated, I had the same reaction when I got them back.

The car is not built for drag racing, it's road raced. It had enough power to spin a set of Pilot sport cup's at the top of 3rd though.

Does it have the stock differential housing and, if so, was it cryo treated? I've got an '04 cryo'd housing and an '02 non-cryo'd Comptech. I'm leaning towards using the '04. Any thoughts on that?

It's using a Comptech housing, non-treated. Not sure if it has a 00-03 housing or an 04 unit. I'm pretty sure it's a 00-03 housing from when it was purchased. I'd use the Comptech housing over any year stock housing, just for the billet steel reinforcement straps.

We're getting a little OT here, The car is not mine, and built for open track days at local roads courses, as well as being street driven. I just did some work on it.
