I have done searches and found lots of info on this topic except how to compress the pistion those last couple millimeters so I get the pin in and reinstall.

I sanded the worm gear with 180 grit so that's all set. I have tried using c-clamps vices and more. Just can't get it those last millimeters to allow the pin through.

I know guys on here have successfully done this tct mod and taken care of the noise issue successfully. Any help appreciated. Thanks

You need a #4 bolt and remove the access cover and bolt on the outside of the TCT. Screw the bolt in there and it will retract the piston.

You have to take the flat head screw thing out first right? I can't get that thing to come off...

Put it in a vice (maybe with some padding around it) and use a big screwdriver or hex handle with flat blade screw driver attachment.
