Why not use Mobil 1's synthetic ATF fluid?

Huh? ATF is way too thin for this transmission.. I expect there would be a failure pretty quickly using a lube that thin.

Not too comfortable with the MTL and MT-90 oil mix. If Mobil 1 ATF is no good, then I should just stick to Honda's trany oil. Just would think that synthetic was better. Any thoughts????

Thanks for the info... I had calling redline to ask about mixing on my to-do list for tomorrow.

I picked up a quart of MTL and MT-90 earlier today. I'm planning on putting in the full quart of MT-90, then however much MTL fits in with a slight overfill.

I tried straight MTL a while ago... Poor results. It was too thin. I'm now running GM Syncromesh, and initially it worked great, but I noticed a few grinds returning on my last long drive and track day.

I guess I can live with putting in $20 worth of transmission fluid every 5K miles or so...

Thx a bunch. You guys clarified alot! Not sure if I will have problems with my S in extreme heat. Up here in the Northeast it doesn't get too hot. BTW, we just had 2 feet of snow yesterday!
