mine did this for a minute it was $500 to replace. but i was under warranty. the whole unit went dark after a while. not saying thats what will happen to you but thats what happened to mine. take it in get it checked out just to be safe.

I don't know exactly what lights up the tach/spedo display but I would chance it to say that it is led and not just one lightbulb behind the dash display. I would get this looked at ASAP because the heat and the color change could signal an electrical short that is causing excess power to pass through the circuit. It may, worst case scenario, cause a fire if left ignored for too long. Good luck with the fix. Let us know what happens.

wow. yours is an '04 and close to 50k already? did you purchase it new or used? private seller or from dealership? maybe it's just me but that's quite high. anywho, just take it to a dealership and ask for a estimate/quote of fixing it. if it's the bulbs, then it's an easy/cheap fix, however, if it's the cluster itself, then it can be pricey.
