Red Vinyl dye? Advice needed
Hey
Just recently did a full red interior swap over from 03 model to my 00 but the only bits missing is the roll bar garnish.I actually got the bits but heard that once they are apart it is impossible to stick them back together again and the condition of them wasn't too great either. I was wondering has anyone with a red interior ever try repainting their plastic trims of the interior before with some sort of red dye and got good results? Else i am just going to try with every plastic dye i can find. Would like a good match and does not need to perfect as you do not realize the red from roll bar garnish from the interior anyways. would like to avoid paying 300bucks + shipping to australia for new roll bar plus garnish for the half the price i got all my interior bits
thanks in advance

I'm no expert on this but I think vinyl dye is mainly for flexible vinyl like some seats and dash.
On the roll hoops which are hard plastic, a good spray paint made for plastic (here in the US, Krylon makes one) would probably be your best choice. Just make sure to really clean and wipe down the hoops before you paint them--something like mineral spirits (paint thinner) or rubbing alcohol would work to get all the grease and dirt off.
May also want to post in the "S2000 interiors" forum on here and see if anyone else has already done this and could offer some tips
