I've had the car for over a year now and only found out when I first made this thread and the light never came on and I never check the oil level before that.

aren't the ap1 motors known to burn oil even without hitting vtec often?
I remember reading that the ap2 motors did better as far as not burning oil as much as the ap1. I haven't had any issues with burning oil on the ap2 motor yet, after 5-6k miles when I usually change oil it still at the full mark it started with, and I check it often in between the oil change periods just because Im use to the older b series motors burning a bit cause of higher mileage.

Worth checking your 710 levels while you're under there.
Braking up to a roundabout on a slip road in one of my civics about 8 years ago my light went on. I topped it up and kept an eye on it on a weekly basis from then on.
four weeks later, the crankshaft lunched itself after the bearings went. Luckily the guys who pulled the engine out saw that the sump was full so they assumed there was a blocked oil feed somewhere, rather than be being a dumbass.

Oil sump picks up oil, sends a certain amount of it up through the engine on every engine revolution. The fine orifices throughout the engine restrict the flow, creating a 'back'pressure, which is monitored by the oil pressure sensor, (more of a switch, really), located by the oil filter. When you're low enough on oil to prevent the oil sump, the oil 'back'pressure drops to 0, and the oil light goes on.
Go on youtube and see how long a civic or some other engine lasts without oil, at redline. Certainly more than 1 or 2 engine revolutions.
Without very high internal engine temp AND load present, momentary loss of oil pressure will cause no harm.
OP, you're fine, just keep checking oil every 1000 miles. I'm betting you have the latest SmartPhone, so estimate when you'll hit the next 1000 miles, and program a reminder in the phone.

Move to one weight higher on your next oil change. This should slow the burn and possibly increase the miles between changes. Another benifit might be increased compression since less oil will be forced past the rings. I assume your using 10w/30 so you could also try a 50/50 mix of 10w30/40 using the same brand oil and note if any improvements in consumption are realized.
