Default Recommended oil for 02 Vortech Supercharged

I'm looking to do an oil changed myself for the first time since it's supercharged. What oil should I get and how many quarts should I get. It's 2002 and Vortech is v2 and tapped into my oil pan. Also, am I suppose to start the engine in a way where it doesn't damage anything. Any help would greatly appreciated =)

0w40 synthetic, let her warm up before and after hitting it, you should have no problem as long as everything else is in order, tune, injectors, fuel pump, rail, intake, charge cooling. etc.

Buy a 5 quart jug and then a one quart bottle to go along with it. The total oil capacity is 6.2 liters for a completely dry engine, so you'll be putting in a little over 5 quarts, a little more depending on how long you let the oil drain from the pan. Even if you let the car drain overnight, there will be some left in the journals, head, and oil passages so very much doubt you'll need all 6 quarts. I say put in the whole 5 quart jug, start the car so that you verify no leaks or loss of oil pressure, then check the dipstick and add as required.

Whenever I change my oil 5 quarts puts me at two x's below full, and I just top it off with the quart bottle I keep in my trunk. I just let it drain for about 5 minutes, and refill it, I also fill the oil filter about half way full before I slip it on, that way oil pressure goes back to normal faster.
