Default Recommendations for Newbies

Hi Gang! Been away a long time, and found my Inbox full of "what oil to use?" type questions. I do not want to appear to be stuck up, but I cannot answer every one of those Q's with individual responses, so i posting my Signature which has lots of recommendations for the products I use and stand behind.

BTW, I have all of 2600 miles on my car, which reaches its warranty expiration in December!

A few additions:
1) Additives:

For break-in if you have drained the factory fill, I now prefer Valvoline Synpower Oil treatment over MaxLife Engine protector (MLEP).

I like what Lube Control has formulated. I do not have the URL, but it is easy to find on Google. LC attacks deposits rather than being a "slickmeister". But it is very effective, and the chemistry is rock-solid.

2) Tranny fluid:
Still very much like GMS-FM. It is batting 100% on the 6MT 3rd Gen Acura TL's on acura-tl.com.

I also have had very good luck with MTL-P from www.specialtyformulations.com. Tell 'em RR sent you. The damn stuff is purple, though, which I hate. I like stealth.

Hope everyone is well. I was astonished to hear the 2006 is the end of the line for the S2000 as we know it.

Does anyone know the S/N of the last S2000 made at Tochigi? I wonder if they will fetch more than the later (Suzuka?) cars made elsewhere.

This is still pure speculation on the part of the car mags and it was "picked up" and very probably was an April Fools Day joke. We won't know if it's the end till the 2007 shows up.

I really hope it was an April Fools joke. But now that I'm thinking, if 2006 is the last model year, do they continue making them until 2006 is over or do they stop at some point during the year?

I guess that depends on what date the factory usually stops one model year and tools up for the next model year. If you can find that out, then you will have a better idea when the '06 stops and if they are going to tool up for an '07. Since each new model year shows up on our shores around late Sept or Oct., when did those start at the beginning of the assembly line? Maybe the Japan domestic market is a better judge of when that cut-off is.
It won't be long anyway before everyone finds out. The new brochures tend to surface around Sept., maybe sooner. If we don't see any by then, I guess we have the answer.

Well, considering the car they showed was a photo chop, I'd say it wasn't real haha.

RoadRage, FYI if you contact MolaKule directly you can order MTL-P without the dye.

tron1: the reason for the change is this: compare the Virgin Oil analysis of both:

FYI Lube control not only acts as a cleaner, but it is also an antioxidant and friction reducer.

Forgot to mention Specialty Formulations also has a rear differential fluid, HDS-5 (75w90) which I currently have in mine. Have no problems with it so far and will get analyzed when it comes out (December).

They also make a "racing" diff fluid, HDS-R which I believe is around a 75w115 with extra extreme pressure additives. Check the spec's for their fluids here:
