Default Recommend me an oil

Ive been reading a lot of oil threads on whats recommended and cant decide. So help me decide. I have a my S is a 2000 with 22k on it right now. Dino oil has been used as far as I know thru all the oil changes. I drive the car hard. Frequent redlines probably daily and 100 mph on the highways. Im only going to use honda oil filters unless theres something better out there. What oil would you guys recommend me for my type of driving and what should my change intervals be?

Thanks
Mike

Amsoil synthetic, 0-30 or 10-30. I use 0-30.

If you plan on changing oils frequently and not running the car at high ambient temps, run mobil 1 synthetic with a K&N filter

Otherwise:
Redline 10-30 for hard daily use
Redline race weight for track use

These are the only oils currently recommended to us by Dyson at Blackstone Labs. We used data from our race cars to support some of his testing.

Use the Blackstone TBN analysis as a tool to determine when your oil starts to destabilize and change oil accordingly.

I have run Mobil 1 on my Daily driven Evo and have been able to determine that my change intervals were too soon at 3000 miles for my usage type.

I was actually thinking of going with Amsoil because of all the test results I've seen. I would prolly change it every 5k since I only put on like 11k a yr on my car.

Yeah I switched to Mobil1 because of Garrett's test results. They use Mobil1 for all their testing.

I use Mobil 1 and typically change it between every 2500-4000 miles depending on my driving style over those past miles, how much highway I'm driving, etc.

Sometimes I change it a little early but IMO Mobil 1 isn't that expensive for as good of an oil it is...and as long as it is changed frequently enough it seems to do well.

Also, I've got the Mugen cooling mods, so I run my car a little cooler which, when on the track does help the oil retain its protective properties and not destablize as quickly.

I use royal purple 10w30. It seems to do pretty well. If i were you though i would go with mobil 1 10w30. The only reason I use royal purple over mobil 1 is becuase i have a friend who works at a dealer for royal purple and to get 5 quarts of oil costs me about 18 dollars. The cheepest i have been able to find find mobil 1 is a 5 quart jug at walmart for 21.47 i believe.

Amsoil. Proven to be better than everything else. Not only that, if you buy the 2.5 gallon jug, its the cheapest as well. Thats 65 bucks for 10 quarts.
