i've just taken off the wheels and try tighting the perch so the springs wouldnt move .. but after a short test drive it was still making noise... the springs are nice and tight.. why is it still making sounds!? pillow mount?

I just installed mine and I only get noise in the front right. A buddy of mine thinks it could be the high speed damping...the valve is not opening and it is taking bumps at speed super hard. It is weird because only my front right is super noisy going over bumps. Also, going over a speed bump it seems like it rebounds harder/faster than the front left.

I don't have much experience with susp. so anyone that can make sense of this I would appreciate it.

after i installed mine, i had a really bad sounding clunking noise. turns out it has nothing to do with preload. it was a spacer missing under the nut that holds the top hat down. look at the other one and compare the two. i think i might still have pictures.

I bought my used and installed them last week, no noises. I preloaded all of them when I installed them. Also one of the springs was loose in its perch but before I installed it I tightened it up with spanner wrenches. I made sure all the adjustment and locking rings were tight.

and yes, you do have to preload these coilovers
