no, just have a tube that goes from the faux vent to the intake which was plugged by a drain plug during the storm a week ago

that's really strange then. i'm wondering how your engine hydrolocked. though it does not necessarily mean water is what hydrolocked your engine.

I was not aware anything else could hydro lock an engine. What else could it have been?

There is no 100K powertrain warranty from Honda. The original new car warranty is 3yrs/36k.

You can buy an extended warranty which has limited coverage. Neither the original or extended warranty always cover "everything".

It is up to the deale to prove any damage was caused by an aftermarket part, or driver error, such as a overrev and missed shift.
not in the case of an extended or aftermarket warranty!

Magnuson-Moss does NOT APPLY!

how did they conclude hydrolock?!?

if it were a week ago, ALL water would have drained into the oil pan. Also, if the tube were plugged, hydrolock is impossible.

How did they conclude hydrolock?!?

Did they pull the head?

IMO, they are feeding you a pile of shit.

Here's your best advice: check the oil, be sure it's on the full mark.
If you have an intake, you may want to put your stock one back on.
You should have done this. Now they can use your little tube against you, and you'll prolly get denied....

the water was pretty high. I am confused also, a part of the baffle was cut out but with that air tight plug in there that shouldnt have mattered. that was the only significant rain i have ever drivin though.
