Default Rebuildng Top-End

Hey all,

So my car has about 213k miles on it. Still runs good. Was thinking about buying another low-mileage S and selling this one. But i was talking to my mechanic (who works on alot of s2000's) that most likely i would be looking at around $1800 to rebuild the head, which he said is most likely that all is needed on my car. I just wanted to stay in an S as long as i can (love the car). The body is in good shape and i just had it vinyl wrapped about 6-7 months ago, so im not concerned about the body appearance at the moment (think im good for atleast 5 years if i keep the car)..

what do you think? just rebuilding the head would prolong the life of the engine (not to mention restore power, mpg, etc).. but there are other things i am worried about such as smaller parts that have excessive miles (transmission, differential, the chassis, all of which are working fine now) down the line..

i think i can get probably 7k for my car in its condition.. but if i wanted a low mileage S, im looking at shelling out probably another 12-14k.. should i rebuild or look into getting a low mileage s2000?

remember that if you put 2 or 3 or 4,000 into this one you will never get that money back. I would sell it and buy another.

here is a plan by this one, 64,000 miles, 8 grand, and use the parts your 200,000 mile car to rebuilt it.
