Rear wheel noise - can anyone identify?
I'm having issue with a noise that I can't figure out where it's coming from in the right rear. As you can hear in the sound clip, when I roll the car backwards slowly there's a clicking sound and on the road it makes the noise when under deceleration and braking, not under acceleration. When I jacked the rear wheels up and turned it, there wasn't any noise, it sounded normal.
I thought it was a caliper sticking or a build up of something on the brake pads. I took the caliper off, took the pads out, turned the piston back about half a turn, cleaned the pads gently with some sandpaper to take the glazing off of them and reinstalled it. I didn't press the brake pedal before the sound test to make sure the pads weren't rubbing. I even oiled that spring for the handbrake even though I knew that couldn't be the problem but just to be sure. I'm stumped to find out what is causing the noise.
Anyone here experienced this or know whet the issue is?

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me (metallic clicking, almost like marbles). I would recommend trying to perform the rear axle nut TSB.
Here is an example someone else had

WarrenW, you've been around here long enough, you should know better.
This has been a common complaint for YEARS.
If you've never had the axle nut TSB done, then you should certainly consider it.
Did you ever move to NYC?

As for NYC, still planning to move but it's been pushed back a bit, might not be til spring now but still hoping to move sooner if possible.
