Rear Wheel Liner

Rear Wheel Liner
After a minor accident I decided to upgrade my front and rear bumpers to the 2004 style. As I was driving around the neighborhood last night I noticed I could hear every bit of sand that I drove over. I then realized there was no liner in the rear wheel wells. There was nothing preventing sand and other debris from hitting the mufflers and underside of the trunk.
I can actually look through the wheel well and see the tips of the exhaust. Do you think the body shop forgot to put the liners on the car? Did the car come with liners or some sort of shield to prevent this?
I will post pics later to illustrate my concerns. I would appreciate any help on this matter. Pictures and part #'s would be great.

My OEM RE050s seem to pick up EVERY bit of debris. After I had the car a while, and rapped on the back bumper with my fist, and a bunch gravel came falling out.

Mudflaps won't help. The problem isn't the rocks going backwards, it's the rocks being shot straight up.
The front has liners because the top of the wheel well is the fender, and without the front liners rocks can actually make visible dents in the outer skin of the car. That's not a problem for the rear, where the top of the wheel well is hidden behind the quarterpanel.
