Default Rear wheel bearings

I've had this horrible sound past few weeks and concluded its the bearing. When car was on lift, right side rim had play when moving front and back. My question is when putting new bearing, is a new hub needed as well? How will I know if it's damaged or is it just recommended plus any other parts needed when doing this job? For now I am changing my passenger side and later will do driver as I rarely drive the car and been spending quite a lot on it lately.

Thanks

Depends, if the car has play then it's safe to assume the hub is trashed. The new E-bay hubs seem to be pretty decent, had it on the car for a few years now and no problems. Just make sure you get that axle nut torqued down good.

Thanks for the info!!! I ordered all oem stuff. I tend to feel more comfortable with it even if it's a bit more money.

IIRC hubs and bearings are normally replaced together and at $70 its a no brainer. Removing the wheel bearing inner race off of the wheel hub takes some additional work and hopefully the wheel hub isn't damaged in the process.

I've done 30k with track time on an Ebay wheel bearing and hub with great success.

Generally the race is strong towards its axis, it's the lateral forces that widen and destroy them. A wiggle on both side of the rim looking for movement is a good indicator, they must be pretty bad to have movement for the front to rear. Better replace them.
