Default Rear vibrating under accel.

I am getting vibration from the rear of the car under acceleration. Brought the car to a shop & lifted it up. When I grab on the to BOTH drive shafts I can move them as if they were loose. Is this normal? I can see where the spacers would help by sliding them in. No one has talked about the drive shafts being loose or movable. I know this might cause the vibration because its swinging while the car is moving. It only vibrates under acceleration though. Can anyone chime in on this? Thanks in advance.

Move them as in how, up and down, in and out? Also there is no need to bump your thread twice in one day like this. It will not get you any faster results.

rear CV joints. this will get worse until you either...get new CV joints, swap them side to side, or add spacers to move the wear spot. look at the sticky at the top of 'Under the Hood' and read about CV spacers for pics.

I drove mine like that until I couldn't even see the rear view mirrors the vibration was so bad. New CV joints and it was cured instantly.

Good luck,
Jason

I can move then up & down. The passenger side moves more that the drivers side. I did read the "spacers" thread & as I stated it did not say anything about being able to move the shafts up & down just by push & pulling on it. Mostly just about a vibration in the rear.

2 piece & 1 piece spacers. Can't I just buy the 1 piece & cut the fawker in half with a saw? Same thing right?

Wondering, if spacers can solve this problem then when I loosen the 6 bolts on the axle do I use a screw driver to pry it apart? Or do I have to loosen anything else up?

Yea, they move up & down thats why I'm puzzled & its on both sides. Nothing is leaking though its just loose. Would it wiggle like that if the axle nut was loose? Or is it that I have BAD axles? Its not leaking on the CV boots or anywhere on the diff. The driver side when I grab onto it I can wiggle it a little but the passenger side I can wiggle it a bit more going up & down or pulling & tugging. Please help it goes into the shop this monday.
