Rear suspension noise
Since the drive home from the dealer I have had this sound.
This occurs at least twice every 14 miles (my trip to work, one way)
I will hit a sharp impact and then I hear a clank (like a loose spring hitting the shock hat)
Then another type of bump will set if off again. Bumps that load and unload the suspension almost always cause it as well.
manhole covers almost always cause it too.
It seems to come from both the left and right sides.
No spring spacers, I checked.
I have tried bouncing the car, when it is parked, no dice.
No use in going to dealer, they will never hear it...
Any thoughts?

Spare tire tight?? Try removing it and seeing if it helps.
I had all the rear suspension bolts tightened just to be sure.
Noise still there

anymore feedback on this?
This is my exact situation on my '02 with 35K
it's been getting worse with smaller and smaller bumps creating the sound. On a cobblestone road in Newport it sounded as if my car was falling apart, it was embarassing to see people look over wondering what was going on.
I've checked the car on 4 jackstands and no luck in finding anything loose or that otherwise would cause this sound. Mine seems to come only from the driver's side, and always when the front wheel goes over the bump, though sometimes it sems the rear wheel will cause it as well.
