Thumbs up Rear pad change - caliper removal?

I've done break work before, but never on my S. I read the DIY post on changing pads, but then got stuck. I started with my rear pads... after banging on the 2 bolts on the back of the caliper and finally getting them unstuck and removed, I wasn't sure what to do next. The DIY says "Remove both bolts and lift the caliper body up and away from the pads". What part is the caliper body -- the center section on top of the pads, or the remaining part that includes the "arms" that I removed the bolts from? I tried pulling on all part of the caliper from different angles and nothing would move.

What was I doing wrong? Thanks.

Yes, the center section with the brakelines attached is the caliper body. The other section is the caaaliper mount.

There is a trick to removing the caliper body. It is not that hard. There is two "bumps" on the brake pad that lines up with two slots on the caliper pistion. The slots are in an "X". You need to slip the caliper up and away along the path of the X.

LOL...good suggestion...done that myself...worked and worked and couldn't get the damn caliper to lift off the pads. Felt like such an idiot.
