sorry to bring this up, but does anyone know if the rear knuckle on a AP1 is the same as a AP2?

I need to do this. I'm looking to verify part numbers.

Anybody have the part number for the wheel bearing and hub assembly?

I ALWAYS use a torque wrench and based on recommendations from others on the board, torque the lugs to just under 90lbs. I may crank it down a notch now.

The first one went not too long after a track day.

The second one went because of the play in the bearing--that and, of course, having only 4 lugs didn't help. I got all this fixed JUST in time. Hopefully my experience may make it a bit easier for the next owner who has this problem. I've never had an issue with a wheel bearing on any car or bike I've owned....I am having difficulty believing that one would go on the S with only 36K miles on the odometer.
Mine just went on the rear right, and the miles are 42,000 (MY00)

You can get Timken (high quality US bearing mfg) wheels bearings (same on all 4 corners, same for all years) for $18/each - http://www.speedycarparts.com/sku/Honda_S2...6_TM510050.html

Ok, $150 for a tool I hope not to use much at all seems pretty high! Does anyone have one I could borrow or buy from them, or any other SENSIBLE alternative? Obviously the right tool for the right job and all, but SHEESH! I need new shocks, too! lol

I'm all for it if it works and doesn't damage anything! The author of the post seemed to recommend the Honda tool over the others because "apparently none of them work very well on our car."
