Only if your old one is damaged - if your old bearing was bad and you drove around for a bit, there is a good change the hub cannot be reused. I am not sure of the availability of the hub separately - they often come with a new being installed as opposed to alone.

BTW - having the bearing removed & pressed-in costs ~$35-50 per corner.

Any idea what to look for to determine if the hub is ok? Wear limits?

surface will not be smooth and it will not be uniform (as in, it will look like there was some inadvertant machining).

The hub is damaged if the bearing seizes, and starts spinning on the hub. If this happens, the inner bearing race will be loose on the hub where it has scored a channel in the surface of the hub. I've replaced 4 rear bearings, and I believe 2 of them required new hubs.

I disagree. They are always sold separately. Bearing and Hub. Not sold as a set.

Yeah, I couldn't find any hubs 0with bearing when I just searched. When I called up a local shop (to get their press prices), they said I could buy a hub w/bearing for ~$150. I don't think the bearing was actually included in the item they were quoting as bare hubs go for $110-140 on-line.
