Rear Hub?

Rear Hub?
About 2 weeks ago I started getting this mad grinding noise coming from the back. First I thought the pads were done but that wasn't it. Then I thought the rotor was warped as it seemed to squeak in intervals as the wheel was spinning. Rotors seemed to be fine upon inspection.
I had a buddy do an alignment for me a few days ago and no surprise the wheel making the noise was way off. The problem happens while on the brakes or when the clutch is disengaged and cruising. When i engage the clutch it goes away. Is this the rear hub and how would I diagnose its failure.
As well I broke one of my front wheel studs. How would I go about replacing one, hopefully without replacing the hub.
Thanks

First on the wheel stud...take a look in the DIY FAQ...there are couple sets of DIY instructions in there.
For the noise...try greasing the caliper pins with a good high temp lithium grease. Sticking calipers can sometimes make that sound.

My rear driver side wheel made a high pitch kind of metallic noise as well. It turned out I needed to repack my wheel bearing. So I took off my wheel and used my air gun to unbolt the axle nut. Then I gunned it back on really tight. I repeated this about 4 to 5 times. Then the noise was gone.
