Even if you were running on no oil, it has no effect on power production to the rear wheels or transmission.
Could low oil cause low oil pressure and a consequent failure or delay in entering VTEC?

Edit: NVM. I just saw that this was an old post from last year.

If I'm in first gear and start off from a stop, when it hits vtec, it feels like one of rear wheels is slipping, the rpms keep going but the car seems to stop for a split second. It's strange. Never felt this happen before. It's almost like the tire is spinning around the rim for a split second, but that can't be it. I'm stumped. And I can get it to do it in 2nd gear as well, right when it hits vtec, it feels like the power on the rear wheels cuts out for a split second. Ideas???
I have the same problem here.

(It's almost like the tire is spinning around the rim for a split second).
This thing drives me mad!
I have to mention that i noticed this after i changed tires 225/45/17 245/40/17.Maybe it's a coincidence but really i don't know.
My clutch has barely 12.000 km on and it's OEM.
Please help me!
Your tires may indeed be slipping on the pavement if they are new. New tires have a "mold release agent" in the outer layer of rubber and the tires are really greasy untill that wears off. Typically takes 100 miles or more.

It's hard to notice but it happens for example in 2nd gear and under heavy acceleration. Its feels like the rear wheel is turning inside of the tire for a split second.I have bridgestone potenza s001 and done with them about 700 km.
In for more info before going to the workshop again.
